I know that this is probably the silliest thing to “update/upgrade”, but the house numbers and the mailbox look like crap…and it gets me every time I drive up to the house. Half of the 4 was chipped off, the reflector back ground was NO longer reflective and the entire box was sun faded. The picture below is from the house listing pictures and doesnt show how beat up the numbers were…and I forgot to take a before picture…

I havent decided if I am going to paint the post (or possibly replace it), but it needs new numbers. and I do not want the sticky numbers, something a little more solid looking.
Found what I wanted on Amazon : 5″ Zinc Alloy Style Emotionlite Floating White House Address Numbers. I love the look of the floating numbers and they are nice and big, I’m sure the mailman will like them 🙂
I couldn’t remove the old ‘stick-on’ numbers, so I decided on a new mailbox…nothing fancy, just new…home depot had the replacement I was looking for, but they recommended buying a new board to screw to the post and then screw the mailbox to it…1x8x16″…they wanted around $20 for that. You can buy a 6 foot 1×8 for less than that…what the hell?? Good thing I had a 1x10x20 in the garage…took a minute to cut it 🙂

Should I paint the post?
